NB Bug Report
System: Windows 10
Battery or AC: AC
Description: Motherboard/screen cable
Model: N552VX
Frequency of Occurrence: Always
Reset OS: No
Hey guys,
Due to a series of Kernel-Power 41 errors recently I decided to open up my N55VX today and clean out some dust. In the process I stupidly used a vacuum cleaner to get rid of the worst surface dust (it was a lot and I thought I was being really careful). However I accidentally managed to break the connector of one of the cables that I believe run into between the motherboard and the screen. Thus I was forced to put the laptop back together without being able to reconnect the cable. I have outlined the connection with a red circle (it's the one being disconnected at 05:43 in this video:

Can anyone tell me what this thing does? I assumed I would need to get a replacement for my screen to even work but to my surprise the laptop actually appears to run exactly like normal now. So it appears to serve some non-essential function, but I haven't figured out what yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello flowerpunk,
Please kindly do not touch the connector or pin from now on.
Let it be like that as long as your device is still working.
It is very vulnerable now.
Thank you.
