Hello, I have a call problem on my Asus Zenfone Laser 5.5. My firmware version is 1.17. I already had this problem since FW version 1.15. Clearly it's a software bug.
When the bug appears, the microphone turns mute. Really it isn't complete muted a bit of sound it's barely perceptible to the other side (the microphone volume seems to be reduced at 5-10%)
Practically most of the people won't hear nothing in typical even slightly noisy environment (I personally check the quality of call in those conditions)
The bug may occurs both on incoming or out coming call but randomly even after a bunch of regular calls.
I observed that if in this "bugged conditions" you switch on speakerphone (loud mode) the microphone turns to works regular.
Switching again on normal mode (auricular speaker) the microphone turns mute. An so on.
At last, I observed that sometimes a call could start to run correctly (microphone works correctly in normal mode: auricular speaker); If during the call I switch on speakerphone (loud) it is still working good. But switching again to normal mode (auricular speaker) the issue appears. Once the issue is appeared it remains with the same behavior (above described) for any successive incoming or out coming call.
As already observed The issue is temporarily cleared only restarting the smartphone.
Does anyone have the same problem as mine? What could be the possible solution to this?

Hey bhargav,

This issue has been already highlighted to the developer team & they are working for a fix.

You can try the below screenshots & try changing the same, check if it improves the Mic issue.
