USB is perhaps the single easiest way to carry data from one device to another.

Nobody remembers floppy disks, and CDs, because they all have been replaced by USBs.

USB is easy to use because all you have to do is plug it in, and transfer data. Moreover, USB’s can easily be plugged into smartphones, with the help of a connector.

So now, no only you can use a USB for a smart TV, laptop and PC, but for a smartphone as well.
However, sometimes, you might receive the error that the USB driver isn’t working. There is a simple way of solving this problem.

How to fix USB driver?

First, it is important that you update your USB drivers on a regular basis so that there are no conflicts.

You can easily download USB drivers from the internet, install and scan them, to see if they are up to date.

USB drivers are updated manually, or the driver update tool does it automatically, whenever there is an update.

To manually launch the USB driver update, first, open the program. For example, there is a tool called DriverDownloader, which helps in keeping drivers up to date.

The user can easily scan the PC for outdated drivers.

Usually, you need to update the drivers when the USB device is not working and when the operating system is giving you errors. Moreover, this could also happen because the updated hardware and software device is facing problems.

If the problem persists, then it is best to see if the downloaded drivers are even compatible with the USB device, you are using.

  • When you buy a USB, you know its model number and other details. After knowing these details, you should visit the manufacturer’s website. There you can find out which drivers would be best for your USB.
  • There are other solutions which can help you solve your USB drive problem.
  • First, you have to unplug your computer or laptop from its power source. It is important to completely unplug it because when some computers are powered off, their motherboard still gets power.
  • After a few minutes, plug the device back, and then try inserting the USB into its port. The USB driver starts working out this way, in most cases.
  • If you don’t want to shut down your device, then you can restart it. When you restart the system, most USB devices start working.
  • The next solution is a little bit complicated, as you need to go to the USB Root Hub. First, open the device manager, and then expand the option ‘USB Serial Bus Controllers’.
  • When you see this option, right-click on the USB Root Hub and then choose the properties option.
  • Then choose the power management tab, and from there, uncheck the ‘allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’ option. You have to repeat these steps for each USB Root Hub that you have in your computer.

  • After that, you need to click on ‘ok’ and then restart your device. The problem will disappear and the USB driver will start working.
