In 1997, the first laptop appeared under the company’s brand - after which ASUS made a special emphasis on a new category of consumer devices and brought to the market many models in all price segments. It is also curious that ASUS laptops, for example, were the first to go into space and work without fail at Mir station. Further, in accordance with the needs of the market, the company successfully introduced smartphones and tablets of the Zen line, and today it is actively developing gadgets of the Internet of Things segment and is aimed at robotics.

Since its founding, ASUS has always paid particular attention to gaming products. The desire of engineers to create powerful uncompromising solutions for enthusiasts and fans of computer games led to the founding of the branded sub-brand ASUS Republic of Gamers in 2006. The rapid development of the gaming market contributed to the formation of the ROG brand, whose products became an example for many manufacturers to follow. ROG is more than just innovative and ultra-reliable devices, this brand today takes an active part in the global gaming community, helping to develop the gaming industry by organizing e-sports events around the world. The Republic of Gamers brand has become a leader in the segment of the best devices for computer games and extreme overclocking, having won many awards and positive reviews from specialized media around the world.

Today, the Republic of Gamers line includes computer hardware - motherboards, video cards, sound cards, game monitors, high-performance laptops, desktops, as well as gaming peripherals - keyboards, mice, headsets. ASUS ROG products provide unrivaled performance for the most demanding users. All this made it possible to create a whole army of fans around the brand around the world.

The Republic of Gamers brand was created in 2006, and since then, when creating products, ASUS engineers began to work closely with leading world gamers and overclockers, making very non-standard at first glance decisions. There is a fundamental rule in the industry: in order to bring to the market a successful line of new products, designers and engineers must have a complete picture of their customers.

At the end of 2004, the motherboard ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe, which in fact was the prototype for future ROG products, was released. It was the first motherboard to support the installation of two video cards working in a bunch of NVIDIA SLI. This solution, when using two relatively inexpensive models of the GeForce 6600 GT, exceeded in terms of speed in games and the top-end GeForce 6800 Ultra graphics card at that time.

In addition, the high overclocking potential of the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe made this motherboard the best choice for overclockers and enthusiasts for the current generation of processors, which was confirmed by numerous records in gaming tests and benchmarks.

But the team of engineers did not stop there - they sought to achieve record performance and overclocking indicators, such as no one else has ever achieved. They dreamed of creating a community of PC gamers, computer enthusiasts and overclockers. But what should they call themselves? Extreme teams? Too common. Extreme gaming? Too easy. G Group? Not breathtakingly cool. After lengthy discussions, the interim name Project G was approved, and soon the motherboard of this series, code-named Pluto, was developed.

ASUS CrossHair: 2006


In 2006, the Project G team was renamed the Republic of Gamers, and the first product of the new brand was the Crosshair motherboard based on the nForce 590 SLI chipset. Of particular interest was the completely passive cooling system with copper radiators and tubes, and an LCD screen was located on the rear panel of the board. This board supported exclusive technologies for overclocking the system: for example, in the first tests with the help of ASUS Crosshair we were able to overclock the AMD Athlon FX-62 processor from the standard 2800 MHz to 3658.3 MHz. ASUS ROG G1: 2007


In 2007, a new line of gaming laptops ASUS G1 under the brand of Republic of Gamers. The large and heavy machines of this series were primarily aimed at gamers: the case with imitation of carbon fiber, as well as side lamps (on both sides of the screen), the intensity of which changed depending on the game scene, improved the effect of immersion in computer games. ASUS ROG Vulcan ANC: 2011 год


The first gaming headset under the Republic of Gamers brand in 2011 was the ROG Vulcan ANC. The main feature of this model is understandable from the marking - in ROG Vulcan ANC there was an active noise reduction system (this is how the letters ANC in the name are decoded - active noise cancellation). The stylish design of the headset is built on a combination of black and bright red colors, complemented by carbon-fiber inserts. The headset uses 40 mm emitters. When using these headphones, the musical accompaniment of the games goes to the background, as it were, which allows the user to focus on the effects: shots, squeaks and creeping steps of a virtual opponent.

ASUS ROG Xonar Phoebus: 2012


This gaming sound card comes with an external unit connected to the card via cables. Thanks to this, the user is spared the need to bother with the connectors on the back wall every time you connect and disconnect the headset. To change the volume, just turn the knob, and to temporarily mute the sound, press the button. It is also worth noting that this external module performs another important function. Thanks to the array of two microphones located in it, the board has the ability to effectively suppress ambient noise, improving the quality of voice communication between team members during network battles.

Maximus VI Impact: 2013


This motherboard, measuring only 17 × 17 cm (Mini-ITX form factor), is comparable in functionality with many ATX solutions. By the way, it was with the help of this model that a world record was set for overclocking DDR3 memory to 4,231 MHz. The model is based on the Intel Z87 chipset and supports fourth-generation Intel Core processors. The board is equipped with a SupremeFX Impact sound card, which is characterized by the best signal-to-noise ratio in its class - 115 dB. The ROG Maximus VI Impact power subsystem uses digital control, the same as in ATX-sized ROG boards.

ASUS Mini-PC ROG G20: 2014


ROG G20CB is a desktop gaming mini-PC made in a small case with a volume of only 12.5 liters. The novelty boasts a powerful hardware configuration: a sixth generation Intel Core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics card. For quick access to data, the PC supports PCI Express Gen 3 x4, DDR4 SDRAM, as well as USB 3.1. The proprietary application ASUS Aegis II helps to monitor the technical parameters of the system, as well as record and edit video clips of the game, so that later they can be shared on social networks.
