ZenFone5 is well known of its Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and6.2-inch LCD display in a sleek body. It comes with a dual camera that combinesa 12MP main camera with a 24mm-equivalent focal length lens and a secondary 8MPcamera with a super-wide-angle lens. Of which is claimed to be an excellentmid-range option by DxOMark.

With anoverall DxOMark score of 90 points, the Asus ZenFone 5 does very well for adevice in its class. In still image mode, the camera delivers a balancedperformance across all shooting situations, with generally good color andexposure, earning itself a good Photo score of 93 points.Drawbacks include some luminance noise in blue skies, even in very bright light,as well as a cyan-shift effect and occasional ghosting artifacts onmoving subjects in high-contrast scenes…” – DxOMark.com

i.                Bright light

Bright light images show good color and decent detail, but there is someluminance noise in blue skies.

ii.               Low light and Flash

The ZenFone 5delivers good dynamic range in this scene, but noise and a loss of detailbecome more obvious in indoor and low-light conditions.

iii.              Zoom and Bokeh

The Asus ZenFone 5bokeh produces natural-looking results, but offers a narrower dynamic rangethan standard shooting mode.

At 92 points, theAsus ZenFone 5 achieves a very good score for exposure, and dynamic range playsan important part in this.

ii.               Color (86)

The ZenFone 5’s colorperformance is excellent.

iii.              Autofocus (98)

Defocusing between each shot and then requestingfocus, the ZenFone 5 delivered in-focus images both with a 500ms and 2000msdelay before triggering the shutter.

iv.              Bokeh (40)

The ZenFone 5produces a quite natural bokeh effect, with blur not only applied to the backgroundbut also to the foreground.
