ZENUI 5 FOR ZE520KL & ZE552KL

hi, i want to ask why asus zenfone 3 ze520kl and ze552kl not get zenui 5? while zenfone 3 max gets zenui 5 and the latest oreo update is 8.1.

in my opinion this is unfair because zenfone 3 max from birth already wear zenui 3 like zenfone 3 flagship series and get zenui 4 too but why zenfone 3 max get zenui 5 whereas zenfone 3 is not?

Asus, please think about it. Top brands give top quality support. We bought ze520kl, which was your top of the range. Are you a top brand, or not? Long term support and system updates are the main requisites for a top brand, on a top phone... I'm still confident to see Android 8.1 on ze520kl, no technical problems, only commercial decision. It's up to Asus to choose what type of brand they are.

To be fair, that phone was the first one to get updated to 8.1, i would assume and hope it will also be released for ze520kl and ze552kl since these phones were released about the same time as the Max.

They are probably using it as beta.
