Hi Vkkvader,

Does this happen in safe mode?

How to Enter Safe Mode?

Apply to: ZenFone, PadFone, FonePad

When power is off:

1.      Long press power key to boot.

2.      When ASUS logo appears, press and hold volume down key till home screen appears

3.      “Safe Mode” reminder appears on the lower-left of home screen

When power is on:

1.      Long press power key.

2.      Tap and hold “Power Off”.

3.      Tap “OK” of Reboot to Safe Mode window.

4.      “Safe mode” reminder appears on the lower-left of home screen.

How to Exit Safe Mode ?

There result is the same in safe mode .It doesn't dim when moving from a room @ 100 nits brightness to a room @ 5 nits . Works only when going from extreme brightness 4000 nits to dim room or  if toggling auto brightness . Seems the number of brightness levels supported by this phone is inadequate and needs a fix .  All my previous devices handled auto brightness much more fluidly

@max_asus stop suggesting going to safe mode, clearing cache partition or to do factory reset to every problem! These issue can't get fixed by doing all these things these are major bugs in your software which needed to get fixed ASAP. And yes the auto brightness sensor is almost useless in this phone, the lowest brightness is still very high and it doesn't quickly respond to the outside light.

Hi Vkkvader,

As we checked again, the issue does not persist on the latest FOTA.

Can you please check if the issue persist on the latest FOTA .80?

Update your device and let us know.

Awaiting reply.

Hi Vkkvader,

As we are not able to duplicate this issue, we would request you to perform factory reset once and let us know.

@max_asus : seems you've not understood the problem . Auto brightness works  ; but needs to be more responsive like I mentioned in my second post . Your  dev team needs to have a look at this .
