I'm using two SIMs from two different carriers. At first I was glad that signal of SIM2 was about roughly the double of SIM1 (tested in the same places) cause I was about to switch to SIM2's carrier. Having switched the SIMs the odds reverted and now SIM2, the old carrier with lower signal in slot 1, is getting the higher signal. Shortly slot 2 has a better signal of slit 1 independently from the carrier. Is this normal?

If needed, the two Italian carriers are Wind 3 and Postemobile

Hi il Santo,

Good day.
The signal strength is related to the carrier cell sites quantity at the location.
I would suggest you can change sim slot for a check or please check it on another device.

Thank you.

It is what I have already checked Emilee: I used two SIMs together, of two different carriers, in the two slots of the phone; the result was:
Place A: sim slot1 two signal bars / sim slot2 four signal bars.
Place B: sim slot1 one bar / SIM slot2 three signal bars.

Then switched the two SIMs in the slots so that SIM in slot 2 was now in slot 1, repeated the test and got same results as if it was dependent on sim's slot and not sim's carrier. Slot 2 has always a roughly better signal reception

I think that is due to SIM card slot 2 supports 2G network band only. And in general 2G has better and stronger signal (better reception and coverage). SIM card slot 1 always trying to connect to 3G/4G because of network data.

Thank you Robex. That could really be 🤔
In that case would be a normal behavior of the phone.
Have you experimented the same too?
