Encountered an issue today on ASUS Max, No audio/sound even the phone ringtone/volume  setting is proper. No audio even for App/Youtube. Though Vibrator is working fine. Phone has been re-started twice. DO I need to download any file/need to change some setting.

Please help as phone is almost dead.

You haven't mentioned firmware version [Settings > About > Software Information
Update to latest firmware https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1009748

Assuming media Volume / Ringtones and notification volume slider is set to full or high. [Settings > Sound and notification]

Try running in Safe Mode https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1005163 . If it works in Safe Mode then any 3rd party app is interfering, try uninstalling that App or Factory Reset or Hard Reset

Also try Clearing Data of 'Audio Wizard' App from Settings > Apps

Check whether issue has been resolved or not.

If none of the above helps visit Authorised Asus Service Center and get the device checked https://www.asus.com/in/support/Service-Center/India

You have latest version,Try factory reset and tell us if problem persist

Well just wanted to understand if they are going to change speaker or do you think may be any other fixes too.? And frankly I do not wanted to spend more than 500/- on this phone as this is the first time I have brought any china made mobile.

If device is in warranty then it will be free of cost, otherwise you may ask them before any parts change

We cannot predict the issues in your device unless you get them checked physically.

Service centers have proper tools to detect the issues.

You may visit the SC and get the device checked.
